Demand for rehabilitation services is growing apace with population aging. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), senior citizens 65 years or more will increase 88% in the coming years. Stroke is the primary cause of disability in aging population, and the second leading cause of death in many countries.
Although the mortality rate of stroke has declined, the incidence and prevalence of stroke continue to rise, meaning an ever growing number of elders with conditions that require rehab services for their recovery.
